My friend Missy and I have been writing tunes for the past couple of years - a little tougher to do now that she lives in Nashville. Nonetheless, we've finished a few tunes and I really like the rough version we have of a song we recorded on my iPod (very high tech!). Missy singing and me plucking on my acoustic - very rough and raw. Since many of you ask me when I'll put out another record (sorry - CD for you young kids) I REALLY have been writing tunes so I'm doing what I rarely do -posting the first and only recording of our tune "Love Song". Hopefully we'll have a full band recording early next year - my famous last words. You can hear this ditty on the Chad Music player - click on "singles" and look for "Love Song". I also have a few tunes from friends and people that I just like on this player - one of missy's other tunes "Tumbleweed" is also on this player - check out these other artists.
Lyrics to "Love Song" are below ~
Love Song ~ Missy Johnson / Chad LaMarsh 5.30.07
My best friend is making her wedding plans
Flowers and invitations – hiring the band
All for one perfect day
Spend all that money – does it really say I love you anyway?
You and – we’re alive
So, why I can’t I…
Write you a love song
Am I feeling so wrong
Out of touch for so long now
That I don’t know how
To write you a love song
Searching far too hard
Trapped in the fear of no one near
Can we live apart
My best friend is making her family plan
Milk bottles, baby blue and Raggedy Ann
Why can’t follow that trend and
Bend my heart around the knot that’ll join us til the end
You and I – we can’t deny
This is a life we set in site
So, why can’t I…
Smile sweetly for the camera
Cut the cake and fake (fain) the laughter
How it would be nice if I meant this
White picket fence will trap us in our skin & make us wonder
What the family needs
What’s in our hearts is what matters
My best friend had it right in the end – but that life, it’s just not right for me
So I’ll write you a love song
It no longer feels wrong
Out of touch for song long now
Gave me time to find out how
To write you a love song
After searching so hard
There is no fear to have you near
I’ve finally let down my guard

I'm a jackass..... ok - maybe just the last comment is true - I have been uploading pics and rehearsing for the show this Friday April 15th at The Attic in Newton Center. We're playing w/ NovaKane again - they're great - awesome 3-part harmonies and the Attic is a very cool place to see us play - good eats, as well!

New tunes - not mine - but some awesome unsigned musicians I've put on the "singles" section of my Jim Beam audio player. A great band called Motorbaby and my buddy James McKenna are my first two adds - hope you love their tunes and check out their web sites that pop up on the player, as well - tell 'e m you love 'em.
Time to re-organize the sock drawer - again.
Howdy All!! Yeah, real REAL cold out here in the NE. Get your snuggle ON! I'm adding "Yes I Am" to the Jim Beam audio player under It's About Time for those of you who haven't heard it / haven't picked up that CD yet. Next Thursday the 27th I'll be playing @ The Greatest Bar over in No. Station (Fleet Center) they play classic Bruins games w/ LB from WAAF commentating and generally heckling - for those of you who haven't experienced LB other than him beating the crap out of opposing players in the 80's at the Garden, he is funny as hell and it will be an awesome time - I go on right after the game. I'm scheduled to play there every Thursday w/ LB and WAAF for the next couple of months - THIS will be a blast!
Had a schedule change in February at the Brimmer - Not there on the 10th - I'll be playing on the 17th (yes, it's a Thursday I won't be at the Greatest Bar).
Keep warm - see you soon!!
Sooooo, now you can get the Chad LaMarsh CD "Anytime / Anywhere" on both AOL's Musicnet and now..... taaahdahhhhhh.... iTunes. Get the entire Cd or just your favorite tunes. You may notice that "Whisper" is over 9 minutes long - the "hidden track" is included with "Whisper" so let it play out an extra minute and a few seconds.
Unfortunately, the Wednesday residency at Paddy O's won't start until January 26th do to some licensing crap that city officials abuse every bar and restaurant with just to make things oh-so-pleasant.... sorry about that - outta my hands.
See you Sunday @ The Place - Go Pat's!!
Yep, finally on a service that you can download the whole CD - Anytime/Anywhere is now on AOL Musicnet. If you are an AOL subscriber I'm sure you've been bombarded with details on how to join - well now it's actually worth the $8.95 a month !! You can download a ton of music from many of your favorite artists – that’s an awesome deal for $8.95! And it’s LEGAL which is even nicer for us musician’s who’ve poured their hearts and bank accounts into their music to only to find out peep’s illegally download or get illegal burned CD’s from friends… yeah - I'm whining.
Go to www.AOL.com and your keyword is: Muiscnet!
I'm singing the Nat'l Anthem tomorrow night at the Monarch's hockey game in Manchester - if you're headed there show up a few minutes early!!
Stay warm and dry in this crappola weather!!
